Today, we come together to celebrate the International Day of Rural Women, a day dedicated to honoring the indomitable spirit of rural women across the globe. These women play a crucial role in enhancing agricultural and rural development, improving food security, and eradicating rural poverty.

Rural women are the backbone of our communities. They work tirelessly to feed their families, tend to their livestock, and cultivate their lands. Despite facing numerous challenges such as limited access to resources and services, they continue to contribute significantly to their communities and economies.

On this special day, we want to highlight the work of Global Women for Quality and Sustainable Development (GWSD). Our non-profit organization is committed to empowering rural women through leadership training, microcredit, agro projects, skills acquisition, health education, water and sanitation, and advocacy against sexual and gender-based violence.

GWSD is a network of women and youths who are agents of change and transformation in their communities. We work tirelessly to promote gender equity, economic empowerment, environmental sustainability, and peace building.
