One of Mariam's current engagements is the Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP), a groundbreaking World Bank-supported initiative aimed at addressing land degradation and environmental challenges in Nigeria. As a consultant for NEWMAP, Mariam collaborates closely with state governments and local communities to design, implement, monitor, and evaluate social and developmental interventions that enhance livelihoods, resilience, and sustainability. These interventions encompass a wide array of areas, including public works on roads, waste management, fishery, poultry, auto mechanics, fashion, cold storage, cassava processing, and more.
